A Swiss tuner has given the Alfa Romeo 8C more power and a gated manual gearbox

Fioravanti adds power, suspension and a manual shifter to Alfa's work of art. Oh, and it's tweaked the Ferrari 512 BB, too

Published: 29 May 2024

Dear Alfa Romeo 8C owners: firstly, congratulations on owning an Alfa Romeo 8C! Secondly, does your sequential paddle shift feel a little lacklustre, and the brakes a bit slow to react? Well, Swiss aftermarket tuner Officine Fioravanti will now offer you carbon ceramic stoppers to deal with the latter and a snappier five-speed gated manual for the former.

They form part of a bespoke new package for the 8C which aims to turn a bona fide piece of Italian art into something punchier and... suspension-ier. Because the pack also includes electronically adjustable suspension from Ohlins and a power jump for the Ferrari-Maserati ‘F136’ 4.7-litre V8. Fioravanti is yet to announce just how dramatic the hike from 450bhp and 354 torques will be, so let's just guess it'll be 'some'.

It’s the same story with the weight, which is promised to be less than the standard 1,585kg. So whether the diet has trimmed the equivalent of a sponge cake, or something even more calorific, remains to be seen.

Fioravanti will also be offering an upgrade package to Ferrari 512 BB owners. That one'll comprise a new engine management unit in place of the carburettor, a modernised electrical system for improved general reliability and… that’s about it.

It hasn’t yet revealed a price for either package, but expect this to change in the coming months.
