The Sterling Automotive Transit Custom is here to liven up your working day
Okay, it may only be an exterior styling kit, but you can bet this thing will be the fastest van on UK roads
Want a Transit that rivals Ford’s 2,000bhp SuperVan 4.2 for pace? Well, this isn’t it. But you can bet that Sterling Automotive’s modified Transit Custom will be driven everywhere as if it’s trying to secure the fastest run up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Sterling’s new kit only focuses on the exterior styling of the Transit Custom (although it will fit lowering springs and a leather interior for some extra cash), but it describes the resulting look as “stylish yet aggressive” and says that it turns an “everyday workhorse into something so much more”.
We’re told the exterior conversion includes a front splitter, those large front intake surrounds, a rear diffuser, rear spoiler, side skirts and 18in wheels. There’s the option of upgrading to 19- or 20in wheels if you want to really test the Transit’s ride quality though, and apparently those laser lamps in the front grille are a £606 optional extra.
You can pick up a converted Custom from Sterling Automotive for £39,995 plus VAT, but you’ll have to work out how to extract 2,000bhp from the 2.0-litre diesel in your own time.
