Aston Martin Vantage GT3 seen rocking green camo in testing
New Aston GT3 coming in 2024, looks predictably ace
Amid all the fanfare in last week’s announcement that Aston Martin would be going for ultimate glory at Le Mans with the Valkyrie in 2025, news of the refreshed GT3 and GT4 programme barely got a look in.
Well, we’re looking now. Primarily because images of the updated Vantage GT3 testing at Silverstone have emerged, complete with a striking camo wrap and headlight motifs that don’t even pretend to mark out where the headlights actually are.
At first glance it doesn’t look like the changes underneath the vinyl shroud are transformative, although there’s visibly more cooling going on at the back behind the rear wheelarches.
In any chase, the design has had to evolve a little bit to comply with the new LMGT3 rules that will replace the outgoing GTE class in the World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans next season.
Apparently the GT3 is in its final testing phase. Only seven months to go until we see it do battle with C8.Rs, RSR-19s and 488 GTE Evos in the 2024 WEC opener… and then on to Pikes Peak, of course.
