Skoda is set to reveal a very special guest of honour at the annual Wörthersee meet. Something tiny. Something shouty. Something sideways.

This yearly festival, which takes place on the banks of a beautiful alpine lake deep in southern Austria, will host a very small car with a very big personality. It’s the Skoda Citigo Rally, and it will form one half of Skoda’s star offering in Reifnitz.

It’s based, obviously, on the very small Skoda Citigo, and features a new “massive” front bumper, a larger air intake, a centrally-positioned exhaust and a very large rear wing offering up literally some downforce. It rolls on 18in wheels - the horror! - shod in low profile tyres, which Skoda says, “promises stability and uncompromising traction”.

You’ll also notice the huge flared arches, the roof scoop and new bonnet too, although there is no word on the engine powering the scrappy little concept. Expect something hugely powerful. Something fast. Something turboey.

Anyway, we’ve sent a crack team of literally some people down to Austria with the strict instruction to snap as much euro-hair as possible, so stay tuned to for more updates. Should some cars appear in the photos too - including the other Skoda Citigo with a 100,000 watt sound system - then all the better…
