Question of the Week

Question of the Week: what has been Nismo’s greatest hit so far?

With Nissan’s tuning and motorsports division celebrating its 40th birthday, we want to know your favourite Nismo road car

Published: 23 Sep 2024

It’s been 40 successful years since Nissan formed its Nismo performance sub-brand. During that time it has created many great racing cars and, on occasion, some remarkable street-legal ones too. So, in our latest Question of the Week, we want you to tell us just which of its road cars is your favourite.

Let’s start with one of the rarest of the bunch - the Nismo 270R. In essence, a Silvia S14 with a power bump to 273bhp, a new heavy duty clutch, a two-way limited-slip differential and a chunky intercooler, just 30 of these things were ever made.

Or how about the Patrol Nismo, which helped to launch the Nismo brand in the Middle East and introduce dune enthusiasts to a new way of, er, conquering dunes? Its 5.6-litre V8 puts out over 400bhp, while stiffer Bilstein shock absorbers and a light aero enhancement made up the other big changes. For pure panto, this might just top the list here.

And then there's the GT-R Nismo. The standard GT-R has been shaming supercars several price brackets above it for years, so it still surprises us that Nissan’s skunkworks division can make it even faster than it already is. Wonderfully silly thing, this. Although if silly is your bag, then you might be wanting to suggest the one-off R33 GT-R Skyline LM...

Over to you then, readers: would any of these take your vote, or will it be something else? Dare we say… the Juke Nismo? As usual, post your vote and show your working in the comment section below for a chance to be featured in Friday’s results post. See you there.
