Can the 4cyl Atom 4R lap the TG track faster than the old Ariel Atom V8?

Thirteen years ago, an Ariel Atom fitted with a 500bhp V8 blitzed the Top Gear test track in 1m 15.1s. That was fast. But this is now.

And now, the new Ariel Atom 4R sports a Honda Civic Type R's 2.0-litre turbo with 400bhp. It'll happily hit 60mph in under 2.7 seconds, 100mph in less than 6.5s and should go on to a 170mph max. More than rapid enough.

Rapid enough to dethrone the V8 Atom's time from our Power Laps board? Over to the Stig to find out...
