Dodge Hellcat or BMW M4, where does your £63k go?
There's a 707bhp Challenger Hellcat on sale in the UK for M4 money. Want it?
The Dodge Challenger Hellcat ought to need very little introduction. With a 707bhp supercharged V8 it’ll no doubt make a very big introduction should you ever come across one, mind.
While not the daddy of Dodge muscle cars – that honour goes to the drag strip-ready Demon – it’s still got more than adequate power. Especially for the sum of £62,950, which is precisely what this black example will currently set you back at a UK dealer.
Yep, UK. All of the faff of importing one across the Atlantic has long since been taken care of. And with a smidge of 9,000 miles covered in its three-year life, it’s still relatively new, too.
It poses a very interesting question, given similar money also buys a brand-new BMW M4 or Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, cars we might loosely call ‘muscle cars’ on European terms but which pale in comparison to an actual muscle car with an additional 250bhp or so, not to mention a properly hefty manual gearshift.
The BMW and Merc doubtless possess a bit more chassis finesse, but the Hellcat isn’t completely shorn of sophistication. This one has a thumping Harman Kardon stereo, while its King Size dimensions mean it has five seats, with a bit more room in the back than plenty of Euro two-doors.
Perhaps the biggest stumbling block for many will be its left-hand-drive status, a pig at the best of times, but all the worse when you’re in something this wide. If you can stomach that, though, there’s arguably a bargain to be had here. Tempted?
