This is our latest look at the track-ready Corvette Z06
We’ll see the Z06 in full in late October. Flat-plane crank V8 and all…
Chevrolet has once again teased its new and improved C8 Corvette Z06 via this mildly grainy image in a short social media video. It follows a picture of a camouflaged car at Le Mans back in the summer, where Chevy also set the date of October 26 for the Zee-Oh-Six's full reveal. Exciting times.
We don’t know too much about the hardcore ‘Vette just yet, although reports suggest it’ll use a 5.5-litre flat-plane crank V8 as opposed to the 6.2-litre LT2 unit of the Stingray. The previous generation C7 Z06 represented a huge improvement over the ‘standard’ car too, so expect fairly major performance gains and upgrades.
While the camo'd car looked to possess a fairly serious front splitter and rear wing combo, the silver car seen sans camo looks perhaps a mite straighter-laced than we expected. And in silver, rather classy. Expect an optional performance package to ramp things up considerably, though no doubt either configuration will be a bit of a bargain in the US.
Roll on October 26, huh. Thoughts, Internet?
