You can now buy a straight-six Dodge Charger in the UK from £70k+

If you harbour an unnatural desire to imagine you’re cruising along sunny San Franciscan black top in a Yankee muscle car but are in fact staring down a cold rainy night in Stoke, you can at least fix the ‘Yankee muscle car’ bit.

Because a company called Unity Automotive is now importing Dodge Chargers directly onto this sceptred isle, with prices starting from £70,000.

For that outlay, you get a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six matched to an eight-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive, all packaged up inside the new Dodge Charger’s distinctive body shape.

In Sixpack R/T guise – that’s the £70k car – the numbers look suspiciously like 414bhp, 468lb ft, a 0-60mph time of 4.6s, and a 12.9s quarter mile time. Might just see off that ludicrously modified Citroen Saxo down yer local drag strip.

Upgrade to the Sixpack Scat Pack – £76,000 if you please – and you’ll see numbers that look suspiciously like 542bhp, 531lb ft, 0-60mph in 3.9s and a quarter mile in 12.2s.

Both of those prices are for the two-door cars – Unity says it’ll soon be taking orders for the four-door Sixpack, as well as the electric Charger Daytona too.
