Mercedes-AMG G63 – long-term review

Is the Mercedes G63 any good at towing?

Mercedes-AMG G63
3982cc, V8 twin-turbo, 4WD, 577bhp, 626lb ft
Claimed MPG:
21.4mpg, 299g/km CO2
0–62mph in 4.5secs, 149mph
£143,305 OTR/£148,005 as tested

Even though it’s the blingy variant, the G63 still comes with a tow bar as standard. It also comes with 577bhp and 627lb ft as standard. Which, when you have our tragic levels of immaturity, is a slightly terrifying combo. Mashing the throttle while pulling up to 3,500kg makes for a hilariously theatrical getaway (lots of noise, lots of rear arch squat) and 0–62mph in 7.1secs. Bonkers.
