This Holland & Holland one-off is the world’s first £1 million Range Rover

New cars really are expensive these days, aren’t they? The entry level Ford is a £25k Puma and an Abarth 500e starts at just under £28k. Heck, even the Dacia Sandero will now set you back almost £15,000.

Oh, and this Range Rover just cost its new owner over £1m. Yeesh.

This is in fact the world’s first £1m Range Rover, and it’s the last in the 25 strong run of Holland & Holland Editions by Overfinch. Although given the price tag, we’re assured this particular one was a bespoke commission and that it’s a “uniquely specified evolution” of that car that already described itself as the most expensive Range Rover in the world.

So, what does that amount of cash get you? Well, there’s all the usual Holland & Holland Rangie bits, including the pair of terrifyingly expensive ‘Royal’ shotguns. They’re not far off £400k on their own. The walnut and leather chests in the boot aren’t cheap either, particularly when filled with crystal glasses, fancy champagne and an H&H picnic set.

There’s a deep black paint for the exterior, with the grilles, vents and other metal details finished in gold. Inside you’re looking at ivory leather with black piping, an incredible amount of walnut and beautiful bespoke bird embroidery. Although yes, those are the birds that you’re then supposed to go and shoot with your fancy shotguns.

Anyway, there’s also some wonderful, handcrafted moorland marquetry on the table between the rear seats that separates this from the other 24 H&H cars that Overfinch has built, and it was handed over to its new owner in a ‘strictly private’ part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

So, this or 40 of those rather pricey Ford Pumas?
