For sale: R34 Skyline, a Bond-spec Defender and more

Many wonderful cars are up for grabs in London. Here are five of them

  • 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec

We’ll start with perhaps the most internet-friendly car of them all. Godzilla. A rather mint, rare R34 Skyline.

The fact it became just a little bit famous through some movie – the name escapes us for the moment – and its propensity to handle big power and big modifications, made it a bit of a star.

This one’s standard, so the familiar 2.6-litre turbo’d straight six, pumps out around 280bhp (but probably more, let’s be honest). It’s also a V-Spec, and thus benefits from bonus internet points.

V-Spec brought with it an active diff, the ATTESA E-TS Pro 4WD system, lower ride height and stiffer suspension. Oh, and a carbon fibre rear air diffuser.

It’s done quite a few miles, mind – 146,000km, so 90,720 miles – but we are told it “has never been used in any races or involved in an accident”. Righto.

    No reserve.

  • 2014 Land Rover Defender SVX JB 24

Yes, it’s the Defender from the most recent James Bond flick Spectre, and with no reserve, is up for the taking.

It’s one of ten cars built specially by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations for the movie, and finished by Bowler. It’s quite excellent.

There are 37in tyres, suspension upgrades including Bilstein dampers, a full roll cage, more power (185bhp), and – this one at least – is fully road legal and free of damage. It was only used for “drive-by” filming. So, if you’re the successful bidder, you can actually drive a legit Bond car on the roads.

    LIKE THIS.

  • 2013 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series

We like the Black Series Mercs, and this one in particular. It gets the fabulous 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated AMG V8 of old, in this guise stealing the pistons, connecting rods, oil cooler and crankshaft from the SLS supercar. And a new ECU.

So it produces 517bhp and 457lb ft of torque, and good for 0-62mph in 4.2s. It’s also wider, stiffer, um, brakier, and features infinitely more wing.

There’s no reserve, so go nuts.

  • 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S Series II by Bertone

Over to our Italian correspondent, and the delightfully 80s Lambo Countach. It’s one of just 105 Countach Series IIs ever built, features less than 26,000km on the clock, and is the perfect car to indulge your inner Grand Theft Auto: Vice City fantasies. Well, not all of them…

Being a Series II means it gets wider tyres, revised suspension geometry, flared arches, a lower ride height and smoother wheels. Would still top 180mph, mind.

This one has been restored too, including an retune for that 4.0-litre V12, a new clutch, and many more things detailed in an extensive file.

You even get a tool roll. Again, no guide on price, but you know the drill.

  • 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster

It’s a Jaguar E-Type. With a V12. And no roof. There is also not much of a description on this particular car other than the fact it is a Jaguar E-Type, with a V12, and no roof. And looks like it probably needs some work...

Oh, and no reserve. So, gawp, and then get yourself down to RM Sotheby’s London sale on 6 September.

    Which one takes your pick?
