Alpine’s 2024 Le Mans Hypercar will be revealed at the 2023 Le Mans 24h
French firm gets its homework done a year early, also teases A110 R Le Mans limited edition
Alpine promised ages ago that it would return to the top tier of endurance racing in 2024, and here you have your first glimpse at the LMDh Hypercar that will fight the likes of the Ferrari 499P and Peugeot 9X8 next year.
That the reveal is taking place 12 months ahead of time begs the question ‘Why not just lob it into action this year?’ But of course, things don’t quite work like that. And anyway, Alpine has a pair of LMP2 cars to worry about.
The reveal of the Hypercar will take place on the eve of the centenary edition of the race, at 11.30 in the, um, morning. Oh, and Alpine will be unveiling a limited edition Le Mans version of its already-limited edition A110 R.
No details on that yet but we’d expect it to be exceedingly similar to the Fernando Alonso special edition of the same, track-focused car. But with different stickers, we’d wager.
Also going on display will be the A290_β electric hot hatch concept, plus the hydrogen powered, single-seater Alpenglow thing Alpine revealed last year.
Throw Esteban Ocon's Monaco GP podium trophy into the mix and the Alpine show stand will be well and truly stuffed...
