Peugeot 9X8 video: the 671bhp hybrid hypercar with no rear wing
Take a closer look at Peugeot's wild endurance racer. Roll on 2023
This is Peugeot’s finished 9X8 endurance racing Hypercar, and yes, there’s still no rear wing. Peugeot reckons it can generate enough ground effect with clever under-body aero alone. Pretty impressive considering the 9X8 is a 671bhp endurance racer that weighs just over a tonne.
The 9X8 conforms to the ACO and FIA’s Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) class and is four-wheel drive, with a 2.6-litre twin-turbo V6 powering the rear wheels and a bespoke, high performance electric motor on the fronts.
Join Top Gear magazine’s Tom Ford for a look around the wingless 9X8 at Fuji Speedway, and find out more about the exciting new Le Mans Hypercar race series that has already attracted entries from BMW, Alpine, Ferrari, Porsche, Toyota and more…
