Forget the Hollywood schmaltz-fest that is Rush, Senna uses no modern commentary, no cheese, just beautiful archive footage stitched together to tell Senna’s tragic story. If you’re not blubbing by the end of this, you need your pulse checked.

Shot in a single take, this short witnesses a mystery car blasting through Paris – mounting kerbs, running reds, in a hurry. The camera was attached to a Merc 450SEL 6.9, but dubbed with a Ferrari 275GTB.

George Miller’s 1981 film is essentially the best road movie in existence, simply because it is entirely about post-apocalyptic cars. And trucks. And petrol tankers. Although – ironically – very few actual roads.

Ignore that the Charger being chased by McQueen loses six hub caps, or they pass the same Beetle several times, this is the finest car chase in history. Jumps, drifts and much V8 rumble – it’ll make you hanker after a muscle car.
