Woah, Ford has unveiled the new Mustang and new Bronco at the same time*

*sort of. Ready the pitchforks, Ford is using its classic names for random products again

Published: 09 Aug 2024

Ford has teamed up with N+ bikes to create two new e-bikes that wear big names from the automotive world. Yep, these pedal bikes are technically the two latest iterations of the Bronco and Mustang. Wonder if this will upset the purists as much as the Mustang Mach-E did?

As you might imagine, the Mustang is set up as a road bike with the Bronco geared towards off-roading.

The Mustang eBike features a 750W (about one entire horsepower) hub-mounted motor with 63lb ft of torque for a top speed of 28mph, while the 720Wh battery provides 60 miles of range. There are four-piston Tektro hydraulic brakes, air-sprung front and rear shocks and proper Pirelli tyres too.

Ford reckons it has “handling that mimics the iconic sports car”, so maybe don’t take it down to that cars and coffee meet? Prices start at $4,000, but you’ll need to pay an extra $390 if you want a colour that isn’t grey.

The Bronco eBike also gets a 750W motor, 60 miles of range and a 28mph top speed, but the plan is for you to be able to hit that top speed on any terrain. As a result, you get Pirelli Scorpion tyres and heavy-duty dual suspension with a motocross-style rear linkage and trailing arm, while the seat also takes inspiration from motocross bikes. There are four different power assist modes too – Eco, Normal, Sport, and Baja. Both bikes weigh just over 30kg.

Prices for the Bronco start at $4,500 with the standard paint that shade of blue Ford now refers to as ‘Area 51’. Perhaps this is what Ford is planning on doing with the Fiesta nameplate too?
