car reviews

The TT's final iteration is its best: a very good car that's easy to live with and thunderously fast in the quick version

Top notch Japanese muscle car with a whole lot of heart. Not dynamically perfect, but in 2023 its charm continues to grow

The Lexus LC is the maddest Lexus since the LFA, and backs it up with impressive dynamics… so long as you buy the V8, not the hybrid

Not the EV we’d recommend, but if you like the way it looks and battery-power suits your lifestyle then by all means

The B-Class is, in essence, just a tall A-Class with more rear room. The 2023 facelift is minimal. Comfy and roomy, but not as versatile as others

The facelifted DS 7 looks smart, rides well in base spec, and has a useful electric-only range, but a premium could dissuade many

BMW’s littlest SUV is no longer so little, but is hampered by its interior tech and combustion engines. iX1 is the pick of the bunch

New mid-engined Corvette C8 is a revolution, not evolution

Interior furnishing and screen systems take priority over how it drives. Many love it for that, but not us

The Q2 is bold on the surface, but woefully unremarkable beneath it

BMW’s Icarus moment. The XM tries to be a luxury SUV and an ultimate M car with a hybrid conscience, but fails to convince as a whole.

It’s more apparent than ever that the 911 GT3 is part of a famous motorsport bloodline. Another phenomenal car

The most single-minded hypercar ever to turn a wheel. Vast complication and compromise hand-in-hand with divine beauty and outlandish speed

Not cheap, and not a conventional SUV, but a thoroughly capable family wagon

A brilliant GT, now with a bit more headroom

An SUV that rightfully ignores sportiness and focuses on comfort, flexibility and downright classiness

The car that started everything for Hyundai. A car with surprisingly British roots

Audi’s heartland hero might not have the hustle of a BMW 3 Series Touring, but it’s plenty competent and got refinement on its side

Hyundai's first full-strength performance car, and it's nailed it. Few hot hatches are this fun to drive

Slightly sharper looks, slightly sharper chassis... but otherwise refreshingly old-school. The F-Type doesn't cause any upsets. Phew

The Audi A6 Avant makes a compelling case for itself, but doesn’t quite match up to the all-round excellence of the BMW 5 Series Touring
